Lucy Dindoyal MA (Roehampton University), HCPC-registered Music Therapist

Lucy’s deeply held belief in the benefits of using music to connect with children and adults lies at the core of her work as a music therapist, and her approach encompasses an accepting, open and flexible attitude, treating each client according to their individual needs. Her creative use of improvised music, using the piano, flute, her voice and percussion instruments to communicate primarily non-verbally and spontaneously with the client, can lead to the positive development of relationships, encourages self-expression, communication and language skills, and enhances wellbeing – all benefits the client can take with them into their daily lives.

Lucy graduated from Roehampton University in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Music Therapy and since then has had experience in a variety of settings, including special schools and respite homes, working with both non-verbal and verbal children and adults, with complex needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), language delays, Down’s syndrome and learning disabilities, including PMLD. Music therapy can also benefit clients with mental health problems, dementia and trauma. She works on a one-to-one basis, as well as with groups and believes in taking a holistic approach, taking into account the client’s background and working alongside family, teachers and therapists from other modalities.
