The Play Therapists at The Owl Centre in North West London combine expertise and experience with a friendly and sympathetic approach to the children and parents they see. They also have links with the NHS to ensure a seamless continuity for clients who have received NHS assessments or therapy.
Carli Lewis BA (Hons) Performing Arts (Buckinghamshire New University), MSc Play Therapy (University of South Wales), BAPT registered.
Carli trained as a Play Therapist at the University of South Wales, supporting children with attachment difficulties, disability, trauma, anxiety, bereavement, domestic violence and emotional distress. Prior to this, she studied Performing Arts, providing inclusive workshops for children with autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, and additional learning needs. She also provided one to one support for children and young people with a range of physical and learning disabilities in a variety of settings.
Carli provides 1-1, non-directive, child-centred Play Therapy sessions to children between 3 and 12 years old. Play Therapy provides a safe, unconditionally positive and accepting environment for a child to process muddled feelings and upsetting events. Play is a natural form of communication for a child and enables expression of feelings and worries at the child’s level and at their own pace. Carli is committed to empowering children, building self-esteem and autonomy to help them develop to their full potential.
