Lyzette Jarvey BA General Education and Psychology, MA Art Psychotherapy. HCPC and BAAT registered
Lyzette is an Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), having qualified in 2007. She offers one-to-one and group art therapy sessions.
Lyzette’s experience is varied and includes working with children and families in a special needs school, in further education, charities, public healthcare and her own private practice. As well as practising as an Art Therapist, Lyzette has also previously worked as a Special Education Tutor and Disability Support Tutor.
Lyzette sees Art Therapy as a way to effect change and growth on a personal level using art materials. Building a therapeutic relationship helps children to express themselves non-verbally and verbally in a safe environment. It is a way of accessing thoughts and feelings that are either difficult or painful to put into words or have not yet been consciously explored.
Lyzette has worked with children with autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, additional learning needs, experience of loss, trauma or other significant life-changes, physical disabilities, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Lyzette is able to provide sessions at one of The Owl Centre’s Oxford sites, and also in areas including:
- High Wycombe
- Prices Risborough
